Technical Challenge
A guidewire became entangled in a coronary stent during a routine angioplasty/stenting procedure. There was a question as to whether the guidewire was appropriately designed.
Veryst Medical Solution
We performed material testing on both the subject and exemplar guidewires. Comparison with other industry guidewires demonstrated that the subject guidewire was either comparable or superior in strength and performance to other high volume guidewires.
