Catheters kink when passed around corners or tight radii within the body. There was virtually no literature or technical guidance on the factors that govern kinking in catheter devices.
Veryst Medical Solution
Veryst performed a study of factors that control catheter kinking. We designed a test program and custom fixture to identify the primary geometric and material factors controlling catheter kinking and qualified, using a complimentary FEA model, the appropriateness of a simple design guideline.
