Metallurgy

Veryst uses metallurgical characterization instrumentation and methods to evaluate metal components. We frequently perform failure analyses on fractured or deformed metal devices to evaluate the root cause of failure. Metallurgical investigations are frequently accompanied by analysis to determine the stresses acting on particular components. Instrumentation used includes metallographic sample preparation, scanning electron microscopy, inductively coupled plasma spectroscopy, and mechanical testing.
